چکیده
Abstract Mount Merapi, a stratovolcano, is the world’s most active volcano, with relatively short eruption period. Merapi formed in Java region as result of regional tectonics dominated by Sunda Arc, resulting large earthquake. Many earth scientists are interested studying volcano’s subsurface conditions due to its period and interesting geological features. The Receiver Function method was used this study determine crust’s depth assess presence LVZ (low velocity zone) reprocessing receiver function data. identify Moho discontinuity area converting P S waves. A total 100 earthquake data from 8 teleseismic stations were successfully downloaded IRIS website, that distributed into sections A-A′ (west side Merapi) B-B’ (east Merapi). processing data, shown stacking align results, shows closest station at west has very strong negative amplitude response, which represented or magma reservoir after arrival wave. To estimate zone for LVZ, forward modeling technique find best correlation between Synthetic curve observation curve.
